Job Summary
We are seeking a Subcontractor Procurement Manager to implement and execute subsystem and equipment procurement for satellites. The successful candidate will manage subcontract documents, negotiate commercial and contractual agreements, and ensure timely delivery of hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and execute subsystem and equipment procurement for satellites, including bus and payload subsystems and equipment, and ground support equipment.
- Manage subcontract documents, including contracts, Statements of Work, and specifications, and negotiate commercial and contractual agreements.
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors to ensure delivery on cost, quality, and time from contract implementation to delivery of hardware.
- Perform regular program and management reviews during subcontract lifetime.
- Implement and manage a competitive tendering process in an international environment.
- Acquire an overview of subsystem and equipment prices and understand price drivers to achieve financial targets.
- Perform subcontractor rating, including feedback and definition of correcting actions with the subcontractor.
- Manage commercial and institutional procurements within customer-driven requirements.
- Regularly report on status and progress of procurements.
- Be the focal point of contact for a procurement domain and the subsystem, equipment, and service range connected to this domain.
- Support early program cost estimation.
- Evaluate suppliers for your domain worldwide.
- Support further definition and optimization of internal processes.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or Opto-Electronics, or similar technical areas.
- Experience in the space sector is highly desirable.
- Several years of work experience in development, manufacturing, qualification, and testing of complex systems, preferably in the space sector.
- Extensive experience in procurement and management of complex subcontracts.
- Experience in legal matters and contract negotiation processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English.
- Process-oriented working discipline.
- High motivation and team spirit.
- Readiness for frequent travels inside Europe in the frame of our international subcontractors in various ESA member states.
