Project Manager Purchasing Lead

About the Role:
MANN+HUMMEL is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager Purchasing to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading procurement projects from initiation to closure, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the procurement function in internal, interdisciplinary project teams, communicating procurement strategies and goals.
- Overall responsibility for achieving project-related material cost targets, adhering to project timelines, ensuring part quality, and maintaining timely data and information.
- Coordinate all relevant procurement activities and processes within a product, market, or development project, including technical changes within the project, with a global character.
- Estimate prices during the concept and proposal phase, initiate RFQs during the concept phase, and prepare the final supplier selection in selected material groups, including the creation of bid comparisons.
- Ensure that the supplier selection for material groups corresponds to the material group strategy, particularly to utilize supplier know-how, innovations, and cost optimization potential.
- Guarantee the manufacturability and quality of purchased parts, in cooperation with supplier quality, and ensure that the APQP process is followed.
- Responsibility for internal and interdisciplinary information exchange, particularly with R&D, Controlling, Quality, and Project Management.
- Application of procurement methods, processes, and tools.
- Coordination of all required documents in the product development process.
Requirements:
- Education: Successfully completed studies in Business Administration or a comparable education.
- Professional experience: At least three to four years of relevant experience in procurement in an international environment.
- Professional competence: Experience in industrial companies or production facilities, preferably in the automotive sector. Experience in project management (both Waterfall and Agile). Very good knowledge of SAP (MM), MS Office, and CDB. Experience in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Knowledge of APQP is an advantage.
- Languages: Fluent German and English skills.
- Personality: Strongly developed communication, presentation, and team skills. Negotiation skills, conflict resolution, and assertiveness. Cost awareness and independent, structured work style.
