We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Accountant to join our team in South America. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial records.
Key Responsibilities:- Process and post statements of account, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Manage claims processing, including sanction screening and consultation with claims specialists
- Contribute to quarterly closing work, ensuring seamless financial reporting
- Process incoming and outgoing payments, maintaining accurate records
- Initiate the creation of new bank details, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with internal interfaces and external customers, providing exceptional customer service
- Participate in working groups and projects, driving process improvements and innovation
- Maintain quality and consistency of process standards and operational controls
- Degree in business administration and/or comparable training
- Initial experience in accounting, preferably in insurance, banking, or taxes
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, including HGB and IFRS
- Knowledge of obligatory and facultative reinsurance contractual forms
- Proficiency in German, Spanish, and English
- SAP skills and Microsoft Office expertise, particularly in Excel
- Affinity for IT topics and willingness to learn new technologies
- Strong numerical reasoning and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Excellent organizational skills and a service-minded approach
