Reinsurance Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Accountant to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our Reinsurance Accounting & Valuation team, you will be responsible for processing statements of account and claims processing for the US Casualty business.
Key Responsibilities
- Process statements of account, including technical scrutiny, and claims processing for US Casualty business
- Perform sanctions checks
- Correspond with internal interfaces and external customers
- Electronically archive documents
- Maintain accounts for business partners, including necessary correspondence to clarify open transactions
- Process balances for completeness and transfer calculated balances to SAP or initiate payments manually
- Process broker statements and statements submitted by direct companies
- Initiate creation of new bank accounts
- Process payments made with settlement of accounts, including payment and exchange rate differences
- Remind outstanding items and process payments and technical postings that cannot be clearly allocated, as well as special payment-related cases
Requirements
- Degree in business administration or commercial training
- Initial experience in accounting, preferably in insurance, banking, or tax, and expertise in processing statements of account
- Curiosity to familiarize yourself with different IT landscapes
- Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- Independent user skills in German and English
- Excellent numerical reasoning and analytical thinking skills
- Self-reliant and independent working style
- Assured and service-minded approach to internal and external customers
