Research Scientist for TRR 181 Project on Energy Transfers

Position Title: Research Scientist for the Project "TRR 181 Energy Transfers in Atmosphere and Ocean" (Subproject M5: REDUCING SPURIOUS MIXING AND ENERGETIC INCONSISTENCIES IN REALISTIC OCEAN MODELLING APPLICATIONS)
Institution: Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences, Department of Mathematics
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract in accordance with academic labor contract regulations.
Work Schedule: Full-time position, with part-time options available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in academic services related to the aforementioned project.
- Conduct independent research and pursue further academic qualifications.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary research focused on the development and evaluation of advanced numerical algorithms for fluid dynamics simulations.
- Contribute to the research efforts of Subproject M5 within the TRR framework.
Candidate Profile:
Applicants should possess a university degree in a relevant discipline, along with a doctorate. A strong foundation in numerical approximation is essential, supported by a documented record of publications in prestigious international journals in the fields of numerical and applied mathematics.
