About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Communicator to join our team at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. As a key member of our outreach and communication team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to promote our research to non-specialist audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and implement outreach strategies to promote our research to non-specialist audiences
- Develop and edit content for various media channels, including print, audio-visual, and digital platforms
- Manage and update our digital content on our website and social media channels
- Promote and manage our public events, including conferences, colloquia, and seminars
- Integrate our public activities into our overall outreach and communication strategy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline of the humanities, with a preference for historical disciplines
- Experience in writing and editing content for non-specialist audiences
- Experience in managing various formats of public communication, including poster design, podcasting, and social media
- Proven skills and experience in project management
- IT skills in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, with familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud and Content Management Systems (e.g., Drupal, WordPress) an advantage
- Native or near-native fluency in verbal and written English, with a good knowledge of written German desirable
- Experience of working in an international environment
- Excellent organizational, communicational, and interpersonal skills
