About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Manager to join our team at PAUL HARTMANN AG. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of environmental and health and safety matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance and Management: Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Waste Management and Circular Economy: Take operative responsibility for local waste management, optimizing processes to meet regulatory and normative compliance. Develop and implement new concepts for waste sorting, cost allocation, and recycling, aligned with circular economy principles.
  • Regulatory Implementation and Lobbying: Engage in regulatory implementation, including lobbying efforts for new environmental regulations within the HARTMANN GROUP.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Maintain and analyze waste management KPIs and costs, ensuring transparency and reporting both locally and internationally.
  • Sustainability and Innovation: Monitor life-cycle impacts and implement measures to improve sustainability. Develop and implement new concepts for waste sorting, cost allocation, and recycling, aligned with circular economy principles.
  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with waste management service providers, including contract negotiation, qualification, supervision, and auditing.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A degree or vocational training in a related field, with work experience in HSE or waste management.
  • Environmental Compliance and Management: Experience in managing environmental compliance, audits, and management systems.
  • Additional Qualifications: Additional qualifications such as Waste Management Officer, Hazardous Goods Officer, Immission Control Officer, Environmental/Quality Management Auditor, or Occupational Safety Expert are a plus.
  • Business Acumen and Analytical Skills: Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, process design, KPI management, and relevant software (e.g., SAP, MS Office).
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and German.
