Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at Embl-Ebi. The successful candidate will design and develop novel wavefront shaping microscopes for imaging in deep biological tissues, and integrate computational imaging methods into bespoke photoacoustic microscopes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical, optical, and electronic components of wavefront shaping microscopes.
  • Develop wavefront control strategies and integrate them into photoacoustic microscopes.
  • Incorporate computational imaging methods into instrument operational workflows.
  • Demonstrate new imaging technologies in collaboration with team members and biologists.
  • Disseminate research results through scientific publications and presentations.
Requirements
  • PhD in physics, engineering, or equivalent field with a solid background in optics/photonics.
  • Experience in building and aligning complex optical setups.
  • Proficiency in programming hardware control (Matlab, Python, LabView) and/or simulation skills (CAD, ZEMAX).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English.
