Job Responsibilities

The primary role involves delivering comprehensive Career and Technical education in the HVAC field. This includes guiding students to achieve the necessary competencies within this trade, demonstrating proficient management of both classroom and laboratory settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining precise and up-to-date student records.

Essential Qualifications

  • Ability to engage in personalized instruction and collaborate with students and aides in a classroom/lab setting.
  • Proficient in record-keeping and knowledgeable about policies governing adult education.
  • Experience in maintaining classroom environments, equipment, and inventories.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the HVAC field with current trade licensure.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years (or 2000 hours) of verifiable experience in the HVAC field within the last five years is required for teaching certification.
  • Licensure: Eligibility for a Journeyman or Master Electrician License/Certification or Technical Professional License in HVAC is necessary.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience in managing educational environments within correctional facilities.
  • Five years of experience in the HVAC field is preferred.
  • Possession of a teaching certificate from the Department of Education is required.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of HVAC trade and the ability to supervise adult learners in a correctional setting.
  • Familiarity with correctional education management and institutional policies.
