We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Instructor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As an HVAC Instructor, you will be responsible for providing effective Career and Technical instruction in the assigned trade area, assisting students to complete the required competencies, and maintaining accurate and current student records.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective Career and Technical instruction in the assigned trade area
- Assist students to complete the required competencies for that trade area
- Maintain accurate and current student records
- Ensure that the lab is operated in compliance with all aspects of safety management
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years' full-time or 2000 hours of verifiable experience in the last 5 years in the relevant field/trade area for a teaching certificate
- A Journeyman or Master Electrician License/Certification or Technical Professional License in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) or Technical Professional License in the relevant trade area/field issued by Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR)
- A teaching certificate by the Department of Education
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience in correctional education classroom management
- Five years' experience in the related trade/field
- A Journeyman or Master Electrician License or a Technical Professional License in Heating, Ventilation or Air Conditioning (HVAC) or Industrial/Technical Professional License/Certification in the relevant trade area/field issued by Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR)
- A teaching certificate by the Department of Education
