Position: Network Security Specialist

As a vital member of our Technik/Betrieb division, you will be instrumental in the strategic planning and operational oversight of IT security within an Internet Service Provider. In a collaborative environment, you will manage daily operations, customer requests, and project implementations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deployment, management, and surveillance of security and network infrastructure, including VPN gateways, firewalls, and load balancers, across operations and projects
  • Assistance in executing protective measures during cyber incidents
  • Support for second-level assistance in network and IT security
  • Advisory and support roles for other departments in executing IT projects related to network communication and security
  • Integration of new networking technologies and innovative IT solutions for optimization and automation
  • Participation in on-call duties

Your Qualifications

  • Strong expertise and experience with firewalls and load balancers
  • Familiarity with common signaling and transmission protocols in IP networks
  • Solid understanding of L3 network technologies, including routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), policy-based routing, QoS, and L3-MPLS
  • Proficient in Linux and scripting languages
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and conceptual abilities
  • A collaborative team player with a passion for learning and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a goal-oriented mindset
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and German
