Cybersecurity Software Engineer for Electric Drive Systems

Festo, a leading industrial technology company, seeks an experienced Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our team.

Job Description

As a Cybersecurity Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing security requirements for our embedded software platform in electric drive systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create a robust security architecture from specification to implementation.

You will also collaborate in the PSIRT environment and coordinate with security experts to ensure the highest level of security for our products.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field;
  • Proficiency in C++ programming language, as well as experience with automation technologies, object-oriented programming, embedded platforms, and real-time operating systems;
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity protocols (TLS), encryption (AES, RSA), key management (PKI, BYOE);
  • Ideal knowledge of real-time communication protocols (EtherCat, ETHERNET/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA TSN) and network protocols (Ethernet, UDP, TCP/IP);
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; and
  • Confident command of MS Office tools and requirements management.
