We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Genetics Expert to join our team at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck, Germany.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with our sugar beet and cereals crops breeding and research teams worldwide to enhance product development processes and implement cutting-edge analytical methodologies.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Biostatistics Implementation: Spearhead the deployment of biostatistical instruments to provide critical decision-making support to our breeding experts.
  • Management of Breeding Technology: Oversee the Breeding Technology operations within our Sugar Beet and Cereals breeding initiatives.
  • Strategic Support: Provide pivotal assistance to our breeding teams in formulating strategic enhancements for breeding program efficacy.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster collaborative efforts across various functions and crops to integrate quantitative genetics and breeding technology insights into our breeding programs.

Requirements:

  • University degree (PhD or M.Sc.) in agricultural sciences with a focus on plant breeding and quantitative genetics, biostatistics or similar qualification
  • Experience in translating business and breeding demands into predictive models is appreciated
  • Passion for data analysis and ability to handle large data sets, including proficiency in related statistical software (R, Python, Julia)
  • Strive for value-adding solutions within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Project management and good communication skills (in English is a pre-requirement, working professional level in German would be a big plus)
