We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Genetics Expert to join our team at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA. In this role, you will collaborate with our sugar beet and cereals crops breeding and research teams worldwide to enhance product development processes and implement biostatistical instruments.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance Product Development: Develop and validate cutting-edge analytical methodologies tailored for diverse breeding programs.
  • Biostatistics Implementation: Deploy biostatistical instruments to provide critical decision-making support to our breeding experts.
  • Management of Breeding Technology: Oversee the Breeding Technology operations within our Sugar Beet and Cereals breeding initiatives.
  • Strategic Support: Provide pivotal assistance to our breeding teams in formulating strategic enhancements for breeding program efficacy.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster collaborative efforts across various functions and crops to integrate quantitative genetics and breeding technology insights into our breeding programs.

Requirements:

  • University degree (PhD or M.Sc.) in agricultural sciences with a focus on plant breeding and quantitative genetics, biostatistics or similar qualification
  • Experience in translating business and breeding demands into predictive models is appreciated
  • Passion for data analysis and ability to handle large data sets, including proficiency in related statistical software (R, Python, Julia)
  • Strive for value-adding solutions within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Project management and good communication skills (in English is a pre-requirement, working professional level in German would be a big plus)
