Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Regional Legal Counsel Europe (EMEA), you will outline the structure of sales, project, product, and service contracts and general conditions.
  • You will sensitize and support the sales, purchase, and implementation of legal matters to ensure clear agreements with third parties.
  • You will assist the Sales and/or Purchasing department with negotiating contracts and be responsible for drafting commercial contracts with customers, suppliers, distribution contracts, and license agreements.
  • You will support R&D in managing and optimizing Dematic's intellectual property and liaise with global responsibilities.
  • You will advise on licensing and patents and liaise with outside counsel.
  • You will protect intellectual property from third parties through confidentiality agreements and determine violations.
  • You will conciliate, arbitrate, and litigate where there is a threatening judicial danger, helping to decide the strategy to avoid danger and reporting to global functions and liaising with outside counsel.
  • You will support special files, such as government relations, real estate transactions, transfer of ownership, acquisition, and merger files, to bring them to a successful end.
  • You will select and maintain contacts with external legal experts to build a good network.
  • You will liaise with group internal functions and outside services to manage industrial risks and insurance.
  • You will keep yourself informed of evolutions within the field and keep your knowledge up-to-date in terms of new developments.

Requirements:

  • Law degree (Master level) with 3-5 years' experience as a legal counsel in an international corporate legal department or as an attorney in an international law firm.
  • In either case, experience should be in Europe and involve a variety of corporate, commercial, transactional, and competition work. Drafting and negotiating international/cross-border agreements is a key competence.
  • Confidence to act autonomously and take responsibility for counseling, negotiating, and resolving legal matters.
  • Self-starter and team player who can work independently.
  • Excellent language skills (fluent English and German is a must).
  • Good command of French and Dutch is a plus.
  • Sense of ownership and drive: problem solver who shows a bias for action, acts promptly to remove roadblocks, and ensures accountability to get things done in a timely manner.
  • Excellent networking skills, successful relationship builder; able to deal at all levels in the organization.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent ability to work under pressure.
