Senior Corporate Counsel

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team at KION Group. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Regional Legal Counsel Europe (EMEA), you will be responsible for outlining the structure of sales, project, product, and service contracts and general conditions.
- You will sensitize and support the sales, purchase, and implementation teams on legal matters to ensure clear agreements with third parties.
- You will assist the Sales and/or Purchasing department with negotiating contracts and be responsible for drafting commercial contracts with customers, suppliers, distribution contracts, and license agreements.
- You will support R&D in managing and optimizing Dematic's intellectual property and liaise with global responsibilities.
- You will advise on licensing and patents and liaise with outside counsel.
- You will protect intellectual property from third parties through confidentiality agreements, determine violations, etc.
- Conciliation, arbitration, and Litigation: where there is a threatening judicial danger, you will help decide the strategy to avoid danger, report to global functions, and liaise with outside counsel.
- You will support special files (government relations, real estate transactions, transfer of ownership, acquisition, and merger files) to bring them to a successful end.
- You will select and maintain contacts with external legal experts to build a good network.
- You will liaise with group internal functions and outside services to manage industrial risks and insurance.
- You will keep yourself continuously informed of evolutions within the field and keep your knowledge up-to-date in terms of new developments.
Requirements:
- Law degree (Master level) with 3-5 years' experience as a legal counsel in an international corporate legal department or as an attorney in an international law firm.
- In either case, such experience was in Europe and involved a variety of corporate, commercial, transactional, and competition work. Drafting and negotiating international/cross-border agreements is a key competence.
- Confidence to act autonomously and take responsibility for counselling, negotiating, and resolving legal matters.
- Self-starter and team player who is able to work independently.
- Excellent language skills (fluent English and German is a must).
- Good command of French and Dutch is a plus.
- Sense of ownership and drive: problem solver who shows a bias for action, acts promptly to remove 'roadblocks,' and ensures accountability to get things done in a timely manner.
- Excellent networking skills, successful relationship builder; able to deal at all levels in the organization.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent ability to work under pressure.
