Job Description

At METRO, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our Corporate Controlling team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our international M&A projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial workstream on M&A projects, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with the M&A, Legal, Tax, Accounting, Controlling, and Treasury departments to build a broad network within the Group.
  • Lead financial due diligence processes, working with external advisors to prepare purchase price mechanisms and manage closing accounts.
  • Analyze business plans and valuation models, preparing scenario calculations and valuations.
  • Assess strategic projects in terms of their benefits for METRO's key performance indicators and make recommendations for decisions.
  • Forecast the effects of transactions on METRO's key financial indicators and create simulations and integrated financial models.
  • Draft and negotiate relevant sections in SPAs.
Requirements:
  • At least five years of professional experience in a transaction-related environment, preferably in transaction advisory services of a consulting company.
  • Familiarity with M&A processes and associated financial matters, including purchase price mechanisms and EV to equity bridges.
  • Graduate degree in Finance with an above-average degree.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to comprehend the significance of individual key figures and their interrelations for the entire METRO Group.
  • Leadership qualities, with the ability to manage stakeholders and partners without a direct reporting line.
  • Fluent in business English; proficiency in other languages is considered advantageous.
