About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at customfield3. As a Lead Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading automation projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the completion of all planning tasks for the Automation department, meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Support projects through all phases, from concept development to detail design, as well as installation, commissioning, and qualification.
  • Develop and implement automation plans within the Automation department, tailored to project needs.
  • Monitor and coordinate work with external contractors, focusing on the Automation department.
  • Lead teams of up to two project engineers at various experience levels.
  • Provide regular project updates to the Pharmaplan project leadership and relevant stakeholders, from project engineers to project sponsors.
  • Source and oversee external resources and planning services as needed.
  • Travel within Germany may be required for project needs.
Requirements
  • Completed technical degree from a university or college.
  • Minimum two project completions in the pharmaceutical industry as a Lead Automation Engineer.
  • Experience in leading technical teams, including at least one project engineer.
  • Experience in planning package units, clean media automation, environmental monitoring systems, process control systems, historian systems, and system integration.
  • Excellent communication skills, proactive, and de-escalation abilities with all project stakeholders.
  • Process-oriented thinking and working style.
  • Awareness of the importance of visually appealing documentation.
  • Excellent German and English language skills (C1 level).
