Fire Protection Inspector

This is a re-announcement of vacancy announcement for a Fire Protection Inspector position. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and providing training classes for the entire installation population, tailored to the needs of different audiences. The classes will cover fire prevention and control, and the candidate will be required to review and update the training program regularly. The position also involves ensuring that the training facilities are adequate and meet minimum regulatory requirements. The candidate will be required to procure necessary training aids and audiovisual equipment, and coordinate with USAG agencies and units to establish live-fire training areas. The selected candidate will also be responsible for providing instruction in all aspects of fire protection, prevention, and control, and performing briefings for announced exercises. Additionally, the candidate will be required to maintain and update documentation of the training program, and prepare regular statistical and narrative reports as required. The position requires a valid host Nation Class B and Class C motor vehicle operator license, and the ability to operate a computer. The candidate must also be able to pass a medical evaluation as determined appropriate by US Army authorities. The position is open to current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany, and EXTERNAL Local National Applicants who reside in Germany. The selected candidate will be employed in an international environment with a welcoming atmosphere, and will have access to high level of job security and attractive pay under German tariff agreements.
Qualifications and RequirementsThe selected candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in fire protection and prevention, and must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of fire safety principles and practices. The candidate must also be able to communicate effectively in English and German, and must have a valid host Nation Class B and Class C motor vehicle operator license. The position requires the ability to operate a computer, and the candidate must be able to pass a medical evaluation as determined appropriate by US Army authorities. The selected candidate will be required to complete a prescribed in-house US Army fire firefighting training during the first 24 months of appointment, and must be able to successfully complete recurring renewal training as well as training to operate newly acquired equipment and specialized training to keep all required certifications up-to-date and valid.
