About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Maintenance Leader to join our team at Amazon Support Services Germany GmbH. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading our maintenance operations and ensuring the highest level of equipment availability at our Leipzig site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the maintenance team and all automated sorting and conveying systems, forklifts, and building technical systems.
  • Ensuring the highest possible availability of all equipment and implementing modern maintenance approaches such as Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM).
  • Ensuring cross-shift troubleshooting of all technical systems.
  • Implementing all necessary safety standards and a proactive safety culture within the team.
  • Fostering continuous development of the team in hard and soft skills to support the growth of Amazon Operations.
  • Developing concepts for continuous optimization of all equipment in accordance with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Participating in strategic decision-making as a member of the site leadership team.
  • Leading and supporting technical greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Planning and adhering to maintenance and repair budgets for the site.
  • Evaluating relevant KPIs to analyze technical equipment and internal processes.

Requirements
  • Engineering degree or technical degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
  • Long-term leadership experience of maintenance teams.
  • Multi-qualified in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably with automated systems such as packaging machines, sorting and conveying systems.
  • Knowledge of modern maintenance concepts (CBM, TPM).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Team skills and good presentation skills for complex topics.
  • Good analytical skills and a structured and independent working style.
  • Fluent German and very good English language skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in technical project management.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and building technical systems in a logistics center and their maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Experience with SPS-based control systems.
