At Goldman Sachs, our Compliance division plays a critical role in preventing, detecting, and mitigating compliance, regulatory, and reputational risk across the firm. We achieve this through our enterprise-wide compliance risk management program, which includes assessing compliance, regulatory, and reputational risk, monitoring for compliance with new or amended laws, rules, and regulations, designing and implementing controls, policies, procedures, and training, conducting independent testing, investigating, surveilling, and monitoring for compliance risks and breaches, and leading the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries.

Your Impact

The Regulatory Affairs team within our Compliance function is seeking a highly skilled professional to support the Chief Compliance Officer in maintaining the Compliance program for Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE (GSBE) and its European branches. This role will involve a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including:

  • Notifying regulators of key events and developments
  • Facilitating regulatory inquiries and responses
  • Supporting the team in regulatory examinations and audits
  • Conducting Compliance training and awareness programs
  • Providing regular and ad-hoc reporting to governance forums
  • Coordinating governance documentation for GSBE
  • Supporting project management and Board reporting

Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A university degree
  • First professional compliance/financial services experience
  • Basic knowledge of the European regulatory environment, including ESMA GL, EBA GL, MaComp, and MaRisk
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluency in English and German
