Medical Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team at PAION Pharma GmbH. As a key member of our Medical Team, you will be responsible for advancing the knowledge of our compounds within the medical and scientific community.
Your primary focus will be on providing medical input to ensure the successful execution of our medical and clinical development strategies. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to identify and address the relevant medical needs of patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain long-term professional relationships with investigators, medical specialists, and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support meetings, collect and interpret insights, and maintain close working relationships with clinical trial teams, medical colleagues, and Sales and Marketing.
- Provide medical support for clinical development studies, including feasibility and quality research site recommendations, TA/product training for site staff, and medical educational activities to support patient recruitment.
- Administer medical support to the Brand team, including identification of HCPs and Advisory boards.
- Act as a field-based reference point for non-promotional scientific and clinical expertise to field force.
- Identify and track potential research opportunities aligned with PAION's development objectives through facilitating Investigator-initiated trials and other research.
- Implement and support scientific projects according to corporate global strategies, including registries, epidemiology projects, or preclinical research.
Requirements
- MD or equivalent, preferably with experience within Intensive Care / Infectious diseases.
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical experience internationally in Clinical Development and/or Medical Affairs and a thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to understand, process, communicate, and present scientific information to a high standard.
- Precise expressiveness and excellent medical writing skills.
- Demonstrative external customer focus with strong networking capabilities and integration with KOLs.
- Excellent influencing, networking, presentation, and communication skills, as well as a proven track record of cross-functional team working.
- Capability to project-manage multiple projects and adapt priorities according to business and strategic needs.
- Capacity to maintain the highest ethical standards, with a working knowledge of relevant clinical regulations and industry standards, including Good Clinical Research Practice.
- Fluency in English; ideally, proficiency in German or Dutch.
