Technician for Laboratory and Measurement Equipment

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at CSA Group. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and operating test equipment, performing specific and routine tests, and recording technical data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate test equipment and perform tests in accordance with work orders issued by jobholders.
  • Conduct routine tests independently and assist in complex or unusual tests under guidance from senior staff or job holder.
  • Record technical data and draft test result reports.
  • Perform mathematical calculations required to summarize test results and relate test results to product specification.
  • Assemble and disassemble test samples, hook up laboratory test equipment, and operate most laboratory test equipment.
  • Identify and record substandard features of products and refer them to manager or Certifier.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of tools, equipment, and work area and carry out assigned laboratory clean-up duties.

Requirements:

  • Technical Certificate or equivalent education and experience.
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of a variety of standards, electrical codes, and electric and electronic circuits.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised in a team-based work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and client-service oriented.
