Workflow and Knowledge Management Intern at GIZ's Data Service Center

As a key component of GIZ's internal service provision, the Data Service Center offers a comprehensive range of data services and expert advice to international cooperation projects. Our services encompass data collection, management, and analysis for various purposes, including impact monitoring, project planning, geospatial analysis, and data sharing. By delivering these services, the Data Service Center makes a significant contribution to GIZ's overarching goal of fostering data-based decision-making solutions and capacities for projects and partner institutions worldwide.
The Data Service Center has recently undergone substantial internal changes to update its workflow and knowledge management structures. A critical aspect of this transformation is the implementation of a role-based concept with specific mandates for areas such as service delivery, procurement, partnerships, and people operations. Complementing this, the team utilizes an agile approach for quarterly resource planning and strategic alignment. To support this change process, the Data Service Center is seeking a motivated working student to assist in implementing structural changes in the Data Service Center's workflow and knowledge management and to support the newly defined Data Service Center roles in various implementation tasks.
- Support in updating the Data Service Center's workflow and knowledge management structure, mainly implemented within the MS365 environment
- Engage in various communication tasks to enhance the Data Service Center's visibility within the organization, including updating the internal information page, and creating PowerPoint presentations
- Facilitate meetings both online and on-site, including documentation, updating agendas, and follow-up activities
- Assist in fulfilling overarching tasks of the Data Service Center roles, such as updating resources (e.g., conceptboards, MS Teams documents), managing tasks on MS Planner, designing information materials, and proofreading
- Contribute to the standardization of the Data Service Center's service delivery processes and support in operative tasks such as tendering goods and services
- University-level degree (Bachelor or Master) in Social Sciences, Event Management or a related field of study, or comparable qualifications through relevant work experience
- Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic project management skills, especially in an agile and international work environment, are an advantage
- Experience in using MS365 tools (e.g. MS Teams, Planner, Sharepoint)
- Very good communication skills in German and English; proficiency in French is an asset

GIZ pays a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross).
