Job Description

At DE-CIX Management GmbH, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to join our team in Frankfurt am Main.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated professional to ensure the stability and reliability of our Internet Exchange (IXP) and global interconnection services. As a Senior Network Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of our optical, switching, and routing platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address network escalations, conduct troubleshooting, fault analysis, and repair, as well as provide technical leadership during major incidents.
  • Interface with existing relevant departments to ensure optimal service and network performance.
  • Improve current processes and workflows.
  • Design and contribute to automation projects and develop tools to increase efficiency.
  • Influence the strategies of peer teams to ensure their strategic plans are in alignment with the technical direction of Network Operations strategy and architecture.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in working in the networking industry on the engineering side, including several years in either a large IT shared services organization or telecom service provider environment.
  • Strong understanding of hardware and transmission technologies, as well as comprehension of the TCP/IP model and their usage principles.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Networking Protocols and Technologies (Ethernet, BGP, OSPF, Nokia HW, QoS, etc.) and familiarity with Linux.
  • Proficiency in software development.
