Your Contribution

Handshake is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Finance & Controlling Working Student to support our financial operations within the EMEA region.

In this role, you will collaborate with both internal and external partners, engaging in essential financial processes on a global scale. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the financial performance of Handshake, working closely with the Financial Controller and reporting to the Geschäftsführer in Germany. Your primary focus will be on various accounting responsibilities within our EMEA operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire a deep understanding of the accounting functions within the EMEA region and manage various tasks in these domains.
  • Participate actively in daily business operations to gain comprehensive insights into our financial processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, as well as forecasts and budgeting.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and digitalization to optimize financial workflows, contributing to the development of our finance, controlling, and accounting framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in both German and English.
  • Currently enrolled in a business administration program with a focus on accounting, finance, controlling, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in accounting, finance, or related areas through internships or student roles is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, concepts, and standards, with a keen interest in controlling.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, and familiar with VBA and various controlling systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective time management skills, capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
