Role Overview
Handshake is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Finance & Controlling Working Student to support our financial operations across the EMEA region.
In this role, you will collaborate with both internal and external partners, engage in essential financial processes on a global scale, and play a key role in enhancing the financial performance of Handshake. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and report directly to the Geschäftsführer in Germany, focusing on various accounting responsibilities within our EMEA operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire knowledge of the accounting operations within our EMEA region and manage various tasks in these domains.
- Participate actively in daily business activities, ensuring a thorough understanding of our financial workflows.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, as well as forecasts and budgeting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, contributing to the enhancement of our finance, controlling, and accounting frameworks.
Qualifications
- Proficient in both German and English.
- Currently enrolled in a business administration program with a concentration in accounting, finance, controlling, or a related field.
- Relevant experience through internships or part-time roles in accounting, finance, or similar areas is preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards, with a keen interest in controlling.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with VBA and various controlling systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
- Ability to work independently and reliably.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management skills, capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
