PhD Researcher in Personalized Medicine for Children with Chronic Kidney Disease

Researcher Position in Personalized Medicine

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Klinik Kinderheilkunde I. The successful candidate will contribute to our research on personalized medicine for children with chronic kidney disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collection of long-term patient outcomes in the 4C-Track study, a long-term extension of the Cardiovascular Comorbidity in Children with CKD (4C) cohort study, from investigators and patients
  • Active involvement in data and biosample collection for the ongoing prospective esCapeKD cohort study of children with CKD
  • Measurement of biomarkers in serum and urine after thorough technical training at host's research laboratory
  • Data management and biostatistical analysis at the ESCAPE Clinical Data Center
  • Collaboration with partner laboratories in MSCA Doctoral Network (two secondments planned Athens and Tallinn)
Requirements:
  • Master degree in biomedical sciences, clinical research, epidemiology, biostatistics or a related topic
  • Familiarity with the principles of clinical-epidemiological research and interest in participating in multicenter clinical research in a European network setting
  • Knowledge of statistics and programming skills in R, Python, and SQL
  • Excellent communication skills and C1-level competency of English in speaking and writing. Additional language skills (French, Italian, Turkish or German) would be favorable
