The Role: The PLM Support Engineer is tasked with ensuring optimal utilization of the PLM system, providing support to end-users, validating new PLM releases, and generating key performance indicators related to products and various PLM processes.
Key Responsibilities:
End Users Functional Supporto Identify, assess, and categorize user issues within the system.
o Develop or recommend solutions and preventive measures.
o Coordinate daily PLM system support with the helpdesk team.
o Mentor the user community in adopting new processes and functionalities.
o Provide guidance and advice to end users on system usage.
o Document functional usage to address specific challenges or enhance operational efficiency.
o Collaborate with Key Users to outline expected system modifications and requirements.
o Suggest new methodologies or adjustments to existing processes.
o Recommend system enhancements to the PLM Change Committee.
o Contribute to the development of necessary reporting and KPIs from the PLM.
o Gather PLM metrics, analyze discrepancies, clarify, and propose potential corrective actions.
o Ensure consistency in reporting.
o Communicate reporting and KPIs to various departments.
o Document system test specifications and non-regression test scenarios.
o Validate new PLM releases in accordance with test specifications and non-regression tests.
o Assist functional and business leaders in documenting user acceptance.
Qualifications for the PLM Functional Support Engineer:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field. Several years of experience in PLM support (both technical and functional). Familiarity with Siemens TeamCenter. Strong understanding of BOM management and variant configurator in TeamCenter. Knowledge of TeamCenter manufacturing processes. General understanding of CAD systems, preferably Catia V5 and/or Siemens NX. Fluency in English and proficiency in French; knowledge of German is advantageous.Skills
Strong analytical abilities, capable of distilling essence from ambiguous issues, confirming understanding, and prioritizing effectively. Proficient in collaborating with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying experience levels. Able to influence and mentor others, delivering results through collaboration. Excellent communicator at the operational level, both in writing and verbally. Outstanding skills in office software and computer applications.
