About the Role:
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a leading international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development. As a key expert in the field of energy programme coordination, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of three Pan-African energy programs: AfSEM, CMP, and AfEES.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM) by providing technical assistance and policy advice to improve policy and regulatory conditions.
- Operationalize the Continental (Power System) Master Plan (CMP) by coordinating technical assistance teams and providing institutional support.
- Develop and implement the Africa Energy Efficiency Strategy (AfEES) by providing expertise in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
- Provide coherent institutional support to ensure the successful implementation of the energy programmes.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline, such as energy, economics, or international development.
- Proficiency in English and French (Level C1) to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- 12 years of project or program management experience, with 7 years of international experience in energy projects in Africa.
- 4 years of experience in coordinating technical assistance teams.
