Energy Expert

We are seeking an experienced Energy Expert to join our team at GIZ International Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level technical assistance and policy advice to support the development and implementation of energy projects in Africa.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the EU and its partners in improving cooperation and coherence of actions in the energy sector
- Assist in the development and implementation of energy projects in Africa
- Provide technical assistance and policy advice to support the achievement of sustainable energy goals
- Coordinate technical assistance teams and support the partnership and its agreements in the energy sector
- Master's degree in economics, management, engineering, life sciences, industry, development-related studies, environmental studies law, business administration, finance or a relevant discipline
- At least 12 years of relevant professional experience in project or programme management
- At least 7 years of international experience in energy projects in a developing country context, some of which must be in Africa
- Experience in coordinating technical assistance teams and providing technical assistance and policy advice
The position will be based in Germany, Eschborn, with the possibility of working in Brussels or one of the African Union member states. The contract will be for 48 months, with an estimated input of 880 working person-days.
