About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Test Engineer to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing test methodologies, performing validation tests, and ensuring the confidentiality of test programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Methodology Development: Define the most appropriate test methodology, testing means, and develop the test operating mode in accordance with our Test Laboratory Quality Management System.
  • Validation Testing: Perform validation tests within the mechanical domain, ensuring the exactitude of test results and guaranteeing the confidentiality of the test program.
  • Tool Development: Participate in the design and development of tools necessary for performing tests.
  • Measuring Equipment Calibration: Implement, verify, and ensure compliance of measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test.
  • Test Preparation: Prepare equipment and test objects for testing, validating that the applied configuration and prerequisite testing allow the testing to proceed.
  • Test Supervision: Supervise and/or execute test activities, analyze test results, and decide if a test has to be redone or not.
  • Test Reporting: Process test results data and write static and dynamic test reports.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Testing Methodology: Knowledge of testing methodology according to Test Laboratory accreditation level (EN17025, COFRAQ, ISO, etc...).
  • Experience in Mechanical Testing: Experience in mechanical (railway) vehicle testing, e.g. pantograph testing, safety against derailment, strain measurement, ride comfort, weight measurement.
  • Education: Master's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and German (French beneficial).
