About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Development Manager to join our team at Haleon. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for driving category growth and developing strategic plans to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement category management strategies to drive long-term sustainable growth
  • Provide compelling insights and category arguments to stakeholders to build confidence in Haleon's category expertise
  • Customize local category vision and strategy, and provide support for customers in developing a long-term plan for the categories
  • Lead category thinking and execution within Germany and Austria for a customer or group of customers, aggregating multiple resources of data to deliver insights, trends, and recommendations
  • Establish strong category relationships with top customers to ensure customer requirements are built into joint business planning processes and customer marketing strategies
  • Provide strong support to deliver in-market execution of the category plan and proactively review performance, providing customer sell-in stories to win and defend listings and tracking performance of NPDs to derive recommendations and further growth potential
  • Provide best-in-class assortment and shelf management services to identify potentials at customer level
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to enhance business planning and be a core member of a cross-functional commercial team to deliver annual negotiations with customers and ongoing customer interactions
  • Track performance in the market, develop insights, and land them internally and externally to drive performance, working cross-functionally to evaluate promotion performance and mechanics and their associated impact on the category and performance
  • Leverage all resources available within Haleon as needed to deliver performance, such as the Shopper Science Lab and its varied Tech solutions, Regional Category Development teams, and Global Marketing Channel resources
Requirements
  • University degree in business administration, economics, or related field
  • Strong track record of category management within a FMCG organization, account management experience a plus
  • Ability to influence and inspire others to deliver business results
  • Ability to navigate complex situations and challenge the status quo with a can-do attitude
  • Well-grounded knowledge in applying category management tools
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly passionate, innovative, and results-driven personality
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, demonstrated in excellent management of internal and external stakeholders (e.g., agencies)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strategic thinking and true understanding of the shopper, experienced in transforming shopper insights into compelling category stories and channel plans
  • Channel know-how of Mass Market (Drug, Grocery, Discount, and dCom)
  • Self-reliant, decisive, and resilient, able to respond and adapt to a fast-moving changing environment
