Procurement Manager for Space Sector (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

  • Implementation and execution of subsystem and equipment procurement for satellites, including bus and payload subsystems and equipment, as well as ground support equipment, especially for predevelopments, Phase A & B1 study projects.
  • Management of required subcontract documents (contract, SOW, specification) and negotiation of the subcontract commercial and contractual agreements.
  • Management of the supplier and subcontract for a delivery on cost, on quality, and on time from contract implementation until delivery of hardware.
  • Perform regular program and management reviews during subcontract lifetime.
  • Implement and manage a competitive tendering process in an international environment.
  • Acquire an overview over subsystem and equipment prices.
  • Understand the price driver for certain subsystems and equipment in order to achieve financial targets.
  • Perform subcontractor rating including feedback and definition of correcting actions with the subcontractor.
  • Manage commercial and institutional procurements within the customer-driven requirements.
  • Regularly report on status and progress of procurements.
  • Be the focal point of contact for a procurement domain and the subsystem, equipment, and service range connected to this domain.
  • Support early program cost estimation.
  • Evaluate suppliers for your domain worldwide.
  • Support further definition and optimization of internal processes.

Your Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optics or Opto-Electronics, Physics, or similar technical areas.
  • Experience in the space sector is highly desirable.
  • Several years of work experience in development, manufacturing, qualification, and testing of complex systems, preferably in the space sector.
  • Extensive experience in the procurement and management of complex subcontracts.
  • Experience in legal matters and contract negotiation processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English.
  • Process-oriented working discipline.
  • High motivation and team spirit.
  • Readiness for frequent travels inside Europe in the frame of our international subcontractors in various ESA member states.
