Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Sales & Technical Manager specializing in food ingredients. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical foundation in Food Technology or a related field, coupled with substantial sales experience (5-7 years) within Germany and German-speaking regions.

The selected individual will oversee the complete sales cycle, encompassing prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, and deal closure. This role is primarily office-based with the flexibility of 2 days of remote work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effective Communication: Utilize exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, comprehend their requirements, and articulate the technical features of our products clearly.
  • Market Knowledge: Maintain current knowledge of the German food industry landscape, including market trends, competitors, and potential clientele, to identify new business opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term partnerships with clients through trust and technical support.
  • Problem Solving: Address technical challenges and provide solutions, including troubleshooting product issues and suggesting enhancements.
  • Adaptability: Adjust to evolving market conditions, customer preferences, and new product offerings while quickly grasping emerging technologies.
  • Sales Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in sales techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with the existing sales team and other departments, such as technical support and customer service.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in German is essential, with proficiency in English preferred for international business interactions.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Technology or a related discipline is required to effectively promote our products and their applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of raw materials utilized in the food sector, with an understanding of the food supply chain.
  • A proven track record in B2B sales of food industry raw materials, particularly in segments utilizing hydrocolloids, is advantageous.
  • Strong technical insight into the chemistry, properties, and applications of food preparation ingredients, with the ability to discuss product specifications and quality standards with clients.
