About Venture Café Berlin

Venture Café Berlin is a dynamic community-driven initiative that aims to connect innovators, creatives, and leaders across Berlin and beyond. As the Director of Venture Café Berlin, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the city's innovation ecosystem.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a launch strategy for Venture Café Berlin in collaboration with VCGI and CIC.
  • Lead the Venture Café Berlin team, ensuring the success of the Thursday Gathering and other ecosystem-building activities.
  • Scope and develop a yearly programming strategy to inspire and connect the local innovation community.
  • Secure foundational financial partners and build a pipeline for funding opportunities.
  • Identify and partner with local ecosystem leaders to build diverse and inclusive programs.
  • Develop innovative program formats to deliver content and create connection opportunities.
  • Lead strategic planning, impact measurement, and program budget for CIC Connect market access and other innovation programs in Berlin.
  • Attract funding for programs and align them within the Thursday Gathering framework.
  • Hire, lead, and coach direct reports towards success.
  • Collaborate with the Venture Café global network and CIC Connect global program to connect the Berlin community to global opportunities.
About You

We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader who understands Berlin's challenges and sees them as opportunities. You will combine a fascination with trends and a humanistic perspective, leading Venture Café Berlin by nurturing relationships, leading teams, and thriving in ambiguity. Your skills include leading programs, matchmaking, innovating, connecting with the community, and fostering collaboration.

You will have knowledge of Berlin's start-up community, key influencers, networks, and organizations. Excellent organizational, project, and task management skills are essential, as well as familiarity with digital media channels and comfort in Google Suite, WordPress, Salesforce, email campaign software, and project management software.
