Lead Data Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Schunk Group. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating our data engineering processes on the Schunk Data Platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines in the cloud (Azure) and on-premises environments.
- Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to plan, implement, and coordinate complex data integration projects.
- Develop and maintain data integration processes using various data sources, including SAP, MSSQL, and IoT systems.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and data governance processes.
- Work closely with the data engineering team to design and implement data lakes and data warehouses.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to design and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer in a cloud environment.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with big data technologies (Spark, PySpark, Databricks, SQL, and NoSQL).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure) and data integration tools (Azure Data Factory).
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English and German.
