Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Process Monitoring Manager to join our Trading Service Hub team at EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg. As a key member of our international team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems, minimizing service disruptions, and supporting the organization's business objectives through effective IT infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize business process and IT service monitoring using EnBW frameworks, ensuring comprehensive coverage and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop, configure, and manage alarm systems for 24/7 operations, including setting thresholds, creating escalation policies, and implementing incident response protocols.
  • Provide expert consulting on the use of EnBW frameworks for monitoring and business process optimization, collaborating with IT service teams, developers, and business analysts to ensure monitoring systems meet organizational needs.
  • Oversee the technical administration, maintenance, and user management of the monitoring platform, ensuring it remains an easy-to-use, self-service tool that supports scalability and resilience.
  • Create and maintain a monitoring catalogue that details existing monitors and provides a framework for integrating monitoring data early in the development process to support automation and efficient operations.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on key business process metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization, and present insights through detailed reports and visualizations.
  • Implement security monitoring within the EnBW environment to detect and respond to security incidents, ensuring all monitoring practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a university degree in computer science, business informatics, mathematics, or a related field, with a proven track record of relevant professional experience in IT. You will also need to be proficient in using monitoring solutions like DataDog or Nagios, with deep knowledge of its features, functionalities, and custom scripting for tailored monitoring solutions.


Additionally, you will need to have strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including proficiency with cloud-native tools like Kubernetes and Docker, as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform. You will also need to be skilled in data collection, analysis, and visualization, with expertise in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R), and capable of creating detailed reports and custom dashboards.


You will also need to be experienced in setting up and managing monitoring and alerting systems, with knowledge of incident response protocols, log management tools (e.g., ELK stack), and playbook development. Furthermore, you will need to be well-versed in security monitoring tools and practices, with an understanding of compliance standards, regulatory requirements, and experience in implementing security alerts and incident management.


As a strong communicator, you will be able to interpret monitoring data to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and recommend improvements to monitoring systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will also need to be proficient in conducting impact analyses, managing risks, and overseeing change management processes, with a focus on communication, documentation, and continuous improvement of change-related activities.


Bonus: Knowledge about commodity and energy trading is a plus, and language skills in English are mandatory, with German being a plus.

The team works remotely most of the time, but we meet regularly at our offices in Karlsruhe, Germany. Paired with our flexible working times and an agile delivery culture, this ensures you work where and when it suits you best.
