About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Buyer Subsurface Procurement Specialist to join our team at Wintershall Dea. As a key member of our procurement department, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing procurement strategies that drive business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Team Lead Procurement Subsurface to develop and implement procurement category and subcategory strategies, monitor supplier markets, create demand forecasts, analyze spend, assess suppliers, and identify opportunities for added value.
  • Sourcing and Contracting: Implement activities defined in the relevant category strategies, including agreeing final specifications and setting commercial conditions, defining critical performance factors, managing tender processes, evaluating proposals, conducting final negotiations, and preparing standard contract templates.
  • Project Procurement Coordination: Support the project organization by establishing project procurement strategies, coordinating between project and procurement teams, and managing non-conformities.
  • Contract Management: Execute and manage contracts, ensure contract performance, and adhere to contractual conditions, handle disputes and claims, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Monitor supplier performance, support continuous improvement and supplier development, collect supplier feedback, reduce the cost of poor quality and non-productive time, and optimize procurement processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study (economics, engineering, legal) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 4 years' experience in a strategic buyer position (procurement/supply chain) or alternative profound sourcing and contract management experience.
  • Skills: Proactive team player, solution-oriented, self-motivated, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and systematic way of working, extensive knowledge of the subsurface markets and categories, cross-cultural awareness, and very good negotiation skills.
  • Language: Fluent in English and German (oral and written).
  • Travel: High willingness to travel.
