Quantum Computing Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team at the Chair of Quantum Optics. As a researcher, you will be responsible for developing novel approaches and methods for quantum computers with trapped ions.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, simulate, and construct innovative experimental apparatuses
- Prepare and carry out experiments with trapped ions, analyze data, and publish scientific results
- Guide other scientists in the team
- Collaborate with national and international research partners and third-party funding agencies
- University degree in physics
- Doctorate in physics
- Sound knowledge of quantum mechanics
- High level of interest in the task at hand, exceptional commitment, and initiative, and a strong ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- International publications and participation in academic exchange
- Experience in experimental quantum optics with atoms, molecules, or solid-state based systems, quantum information processing, laser spectroscopy and -cooling, microwave technology, laser technology, optics, vacuum technology, control electronics, and computer control of experiments
- Very good knowledge of English
