About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs across our operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs that comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and insurance providers, on health and safety issues.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience in the field of health and safety, both in heavy industrial construction and office environments, with at least 3 years of experience at a management level.
- Proven track record as a Health and Safety Manager in construction, service, or maintenance companies, with knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 45001, SCC).
- Completed technical degree or equivalent vocational training.
- Certification as an Occupational Safety Specialist or Safety Engineer according to §7 ASiG.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment.
- Competence both in the office and on construction sites.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business trips.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Capacity to lead and motivate teams in health and safety matters.
- Proficiency in professional German and English, both written and spoken.
