About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join ArcelorMittal as a Health and Safety Specialist, where you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and behavioral changes across our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular site visits, audits, and inspections to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for enhancement.
- Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and coaching sessions to promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.
- Prepare and present regular situation updates, analysis, and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with business leaders and partners to drive performance improvement and optimize site implementation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for our business divisions, providing guidance on health and safety priorities and solutions.
- Contribute to our KPIs reporting system to ensure accurate and timely data.
- Ensure the sharing of relevant REX with the ArcelorMittal Health and Safety community and management, as needed.
Requirements
- You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry, with a Master's degree in Health & Safety from a leading school being a significant asset.
- Experience in safety, behavioral psychology, operational risks, and lean manufacturing is essential.
- Field and result-oriented, with excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and active listening skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to navigate IT tools.
- Ability to motivate people to change their behavior and proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong facilitation skills, with experience in delivering H&S training sessions and coaching.
- Experience working as part of a diverse and remote team.
- Fluency in German and English, with any additional language being considered a plus.
About the Team
- You will join a team of approximately 10 Health and Safety Experts operating in different countries.
- Your focus will be on our sites located in Germany.
- You will report to our Head of Health and Safety.
- Up to 90% business trips are required.
