The Project
We are seeking a Senior Cost & Commercial Manager to join our team in Frankfurt. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing full-cycle cost management services for ongoing commissions throughout Germany. You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their commercial and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cost planning, budgeting, and estimating services for pharmaceutical and life sciences projects
- Manage risk and ensure compliance with contractual frameworks and regulations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to business development and growth initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
Requirements
- Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role
- Previous experience working with pharmaceutical and life sciences clients
- JCT form of contract experience essential with some knowledge of NEC
- Cost planning, budgeting, and estimating experience
- Previous experience of managing people and risk management
- Knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction
- Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration
- Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing
- Strong understanding of industry best practice
- Understanding of hot topic issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, Carbon Reduction impacting Public Sector
- Capex V Opex Cost Analysis/ advice
- A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent
Desirable Skills
- Fluent in German (desirable but not essential)
- Experience in business development
- Developed commercial and financial acumen
- Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction
- Experience leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams
- Developing experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on
