Student Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Support Specialist to join our team at GUS Germany GmbH. As a Student Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to students, ensuring their academic success and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support: Provide timely and effective support to students, addressing their academic, personal, and professional needs.
- Enquiry Management: Respond to a wide range of student enquiries, utilizing various communication channels and in-person interactions.
- Event Organization: Organize and coordinate student events, fostering a sense of community and engagement among students.
- Student Outreach: Identify students at risk of dropping out and offer targeted support to address their needs, referring them to relevant resources as necessary.
- Referral and Signposting: Help students identify their issues or needs and refer them to the most suitable support services.
- Information Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of campus support services to effectively refer students to these resources.
- Peer Mentorship: Oversee and support the peer mentor program, including training and development of student mentors.
- Continuous Improvement: Share suggestions for enhancing the campus learning environment with the relevant department.
- Excellent Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational abilities, ensuring effective time management and prioritization.
- Conflict Resolution Skills: Possess strong conflict resolution skills, able to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Language Proficiency: Exhibit excellent written and spoken language skills in German and English.
- Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, valuing diversity and promoting inclusivity.
- Service Orientation: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for students and staff alike.
- Event Management: Demonstrate experience in organizing events, such as welcome days or new student orientation.
- Problem-Solving: Showcase initiative in problem-solving and proactive action in addressing student concerns.
- Relevant Experience: Possess 1-3 years of experience in student services or a comparable field, with a commercial apprenticeship or demonstrated practical experience in service-oriented roles.
