**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Genetics Researcher to join our team at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA. As a key member of our breeding department, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our product development processes and implementing cutting-edge analytical methodologies.

About the Role

  • Lead Product Development: Develop and validate advanced analytical methodologies to elevate our product development processes and support diverse breeding programs.
  • Biostatistics Expertise: Spearhead the deployment of biostatistical instruments to provide critical decision-making support to our breeding experts.
  • Breeding Technology Management: Oversee the Breeding Technology operations within our Sugar Beet and Cereals breeding initiatives.
  • Strategic Support: Provide pivotal assistance to our breeding teams in formulating strategic enhancements for breeding program efficacy.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster collaborative efforts across various functions and crops to integrate quantitative genetics and breeding technology insights into our breeding programs.

Requirements

  • University degree (PhD or M.Sc.) in agricultural sciences with a focus on plant breeding and quantitative genetics, biostatistics or similar qualification
  • Experience in translating business and breeding demands into predictive models is appreciated
  • Passion for data analysis and ability to handle large data sets, including proficiency in related statistical software (R, Python, Julia)
  • Strive for value-adding solutions within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Project management and good communication skills (in English is a pre-requirement, working professional level in German would be a big plus)
