Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Marker Specialist to join our team at KWS SAAT SE. As a key member of our plant breeding team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our marker application projects.

About the Role:

  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with breeding teams and external service providers to plan and coordinate molecular marker projects, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Evaluate, interpret, and communicate marker results to breeding teams, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Process Optimization: Streamline molecular marker analyses and data management processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing efficient solutions.
  • Research and Development: Contribute to the development of new marker systems and analysis strategies in molecular breeding, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Consult and interact with breeding teams to promote a cooperative work environment, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Completed PhD or Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Biology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of plant or animal breeding practices, with a focus on molecular genetics.
  • Experience in processing molecular genetic data and applying molecular markers, with a strong understanding of data analysis and interpretation.
  • Proficient in MS Office and willingness to learn new software tools, with a focus on data management and analysis.
  • Good English skills (required) and German skills (desired).
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
