Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer - Propulsion to join our team. As a key member of our mechanical engineering department, you will be responsible for all structural topics in propulsion units, including structural design, stress analysis, testing, and compliance demonstration.
Key Responsibilities
- Define test strategy, test bench selection, test plan, and report preparation for structural topics
- Perform analysis activities such as fatigue, damage tolerance, and static strength
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and development processes
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in electric aircraft design and propulsion systems
Requirements
- Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on structural analysis and validation of composite and metallic structures
- Experience with FEM simulation tools and hand calculation
- Knowledge of static, fatigue, thermal, and vibration analysis in structures
- Hands-on experience with test activities, including defining test parameters and loading
- Fluent English language skills, with German or other languages beneficial
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLM Software, ideally Siemens Teamcenter
- Knowledge of aerospace standards and development processes, such as CS23/CS27/SC-VTOL/DO-160G/EHPS
- Experience with HyperMesh, Nastran, OptiStruct
- Basic knowledge of CAD Software, ideally Siemens NX
