Job Title: Structural Test Engineer for eVTOL Aircraft

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Test Engineer to join our team at Volocopter GmbH. As a Structural Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and conducting various tests on the aircraft's structures and components to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and execute structural tests to validate the performance and safety of aerospace components and systems
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and protocols for both static and dynamic structural tests, ensuring they align with project objectives and industry standards
  • Identify and document test results and deviations, making recommendations for improvements and refinements
  • Develop and instrument test articles to capture required test data and response
  • Set up, configure, and validate test equipment before each test execution
  • Analyze test data to assess the structural performance, stress, and stiffness of components

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or similar degree or experience
  • 5+ years of work experience with systems test benches or laboratories
  • 5+ years of work experience with Aircraft systems (Structures, Flight Controls, Electric Propulsion, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with Requirements Engineering
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as NX
  • Very good knowledge of the English language
  • Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
  • Experience communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

  • Solid knowledge in data acquisition system and instrumentation (strain gages, accelerometers, displacement sensors, etc.)
