Job Title: Structural Test Engineer for eVTOL Aircraft
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Structural Test Engineer to join our team at Volocopter GmbH. As a Structural Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and conducting various tests on the aircraft's structures and components to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and execute structural tests to validate the performance and safety of aerospace components and systems
- Develop test plans, procedures, and protocols for both static and dynamic structural tests, ensuring they align with project objectives and industry standards
- Identify and document test results and deviations
- Develop test plans and instrument test articles to capture required test data and response
- Set up, configure, and validate test equipment before each test execution
- Analyze test data to assess the structural performance, stress, and stiffness of components, making recommendations for improvements and refinements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or similar degree or experience, Aerospace Engineering will be considered as a plus
- 5+ years of work experience with systems test benches or laboratories
- 5+ years of work experience with Aircraft systems (Structures, Flight Controls, Electric Propulsion, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience with Requirements Engineering
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as NX
- Very good knowledge of the English language
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
- Experience communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
- Solid knowledge in data acquisition system and instrumentation (strain gages, accelerometers, displacement sensors, etc.)
