Job Description

Xiaomi Technology is seeking a highly skilled Exterior Details Designer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development: Develop detailed designs for exterior components such as lighting, grilles, mirrors, handles, badges, and trim.
  • Create sketches, 3D models, and renderings to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Ensure that design elements are aesthetically pleasing and consistent with the overall vehicle design language.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the lead exterior designer to align detailed design elements with the overall exterior design vision.
  • Collaborate with engineers and suppliers to ensure designs are feasible and manufacturable.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team.
Technical Expertise:
  • Utilize advanced design software such as Alias, CATIA, and Photoshop to develop and refine design details.
  • Stay updated on the latest materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes relevant to automotive exterior components.
  • Ensure that designs meet regulatory and safety standards.
Prototyping and Testing:
  • Oversee the creation of prototypes and mock-ups for exterior details.
  • Conduct and participate in testing to evaluate the performance and durability of design elements.
  • Make necessary adjustments based on testing feedback and results.
Trend Analysis and Research:
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor designs, and consumer preferences.
  • Integrate insights from research into design proposals and iterations.
  • Explore innovative design solutions that enhance the vehicle's exterior appeal.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automotive Design, Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive exterior design, with a focus on detailed components.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Alias, CATIA, Photoshop, and other industry-standard tools.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of detailed automotive exterior designs and successful projects.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
